Barbershop Music Festival 2028
»A CAPPELLA LOVE« is the motto under which numerous choruses and quartets will gather at the Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal from March 9-12, 2028 for Germany's largest barbershop event. The German Barbershop Championships, shows filled with exhilarating performances as well as tags and afterglows are moments to remember, filled with that unique barbershop a cappella sound.
Together, we will experience a huge a cappella festival with singers from all over the world, as the World Mixed Championships will also be held again in 2028, bringing together the world’s best mixed quartets and choruses in Wuppertal.
The Barbershop Music Festival 2028 is all about love – love of music, love of spectacular entertainment and love of enjoying a fantastic and unforgettable experience together. Look forward to the journey and feel the fire that burns within over 1,500 passionate singers. You’ll find a look back at 2026 below.
How to get there
Wuppertal is easy to reach from many German railway stations.
Wuppertal Central Station and the city centre are both about a 10-minute walk from the Historische Stadthalle. If you take the escalator to platform 1 at the station and walk straight along the platform towards platform section E, then take Elisabeth-Schniewind-Str. to Bahnhofstr., you will almost have reached the Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal.
The nearest international airports are Düsseldorf (DUS), Frankfurt (FRA) or Amsterdam (AMS).
Contest
Since 2012, BinG! has been organising BinG! World Mixed, the World Championships for mixed barbershop quartets. Since 2018, we have also had the privilege of hosting the World Championships for mixed barbershop choruses.
In recent years, many outstanding mixed barbershop choruses and quartets have emerged, enriching the world of barbershop.
Throughout its history, our association has been committed to promoting mixed barbershop singing, and we are delighted that, in consultation with the international associations, we have been entrusted with organising the "World Mixed Championships".
Following a break caused by the pandemic, we were finally able to welcome the world’s best mixed quartets for the fifth time and the best mixed choruses for the second time in 2026.
For over 30 years now, the German Barbershop Chrous Championships and the German Quartet Championships have been held every two years as part of the Barbershop Music Festival.

Contest
Since 2012, BinG! has been organising World Mixed, the world championships in mixed barbershop. After a pandemic-related break, we can finally welcome the world's best mixed ensembles to our country for the fifth time in 2026. In recent years, many great mixed barbershop choruses and quartets have emerged, enriching the barbershop world.

A distinguished panel of judges will evaluate the competitions according to BHS rules:

The BMF is sold out – but don't worry: so that family, friends and fans can still be there live, we are bringing the competition directly to your home via livestream.
A livestream ticket costs €15. The ticket link will be activated shortly.
Order of Appearance
Who is on stage and when? When does the quartet competition start? And when do the choruses perform? When is the interval? All these questions are answered in the schedule, which gives detailed times for each ensemble.
The ensembles are accompanied by scouts on site: from their arrival at the historic town hall to the dressing rooms, the warm-up room and then backstage, so that they can perform on time and relaxed.
